A seated male nude is shown from behind and in three-quarter profile, his head turned to the right and one leg drawn up against a reddish-brown background. The figure is rendered in soft, warm flesh tones with visible brushwork that models the musculature of the back, shoulder and arm. This study of a male nude by William Etty is dated 1818 and is held in the Wikimedia Commons collection.
