This painted landscape shows a dense tropical forest path in the foreground, where a rider on horseback and a walking figure approach a thatched hut. Beyond the trees, a broad green plain stretches toward a distant volcano with a plume of smoke rising at sunset. The work is by Raden Saleh and dated 1862.
