About this work
A framed painting shows the mythological scene from the legend of Cupid and Psyche, with a nude Psyche standing at left and Cupid turned away at lower right beside a classical stone pedestal. Winged attendants and seated women gesture in a cloudy sky, and the work is set in a gilded frame bearing a plaque with the artist's name and the legend's title.
