This painting depicts a cobblestone street lined with pale stone buildings, with the white domes of the Sacré-Cœur basilica rising above the rooftops at the end of the street. Small figures in dark clothing walk along the road, and a red shopfront and green foliage add accents of color. Maurice Utrillo painted this work, titled Rue Chevalier de la Barre, Montmartre, in 1917.
