About this work

An engraved interior shows an academy drawing class in which students sit around tables sketching a seated male nude model on a raised platform. Plaster busts line a shelf on the right wall, and a large hanging lamp lights the room. The print carries the Dutch caption identifying it as the drawing academy of The Hague painters, dated 1750.
