About this work
An engraved religious scene shows the dead Christ reclining across the foot of a cross while the grieving Virgin Mary looks upward behind him. Two winged angels and small cherubs attend the body, and a Latin inscription runs along the bottom edge. The print is attributed to Anthony van Dyck, dated 1635, and was published in the Wikimedia Commons collection.
