A loose ink and wash sketch shows a young woman in profile wearing a wide-brimmed hat with a tall, layered crown and a dark ribbon at her neck. Her ruffled collar and a long dark tail of hair fall behind her, and the soft, quick strokes leave much of the figure unfinished. The work is catalogued as Portrait d'une jeune Fille, by Édouard Manet, dated 1880.
