About this work

A fisherman in a red shirt hauls a net from a small rowing boat while a companion rows on a calm river. A sailing barge with a large brown sail sits to the right, and a church tower rises above the trees and red-roofed buildings on the bank, where cattle graze. This print, titled Fishing Boat at Fulham, was made by John Thomas Serres in 1780.
