About this work

A rural scene shows several horses gathered before a thatched farmhouse, where a man works at a horse's hoof while another figure stands nearby. A wooden cart loaded with hay and barrels sits beside a small girl in a red headscarf and a resting dog, under a dramatic sky of gathering clouds with a distant snowy mountain.
