About this work

An engraved reproduction shows a nude female figure in flowing drapery recoiling with outstretched arms beside a reclining male figure lying on the ground. A winged cupid stands near a boar at the base of a tree, and a wide landscape with a cloudy sky opens behind them. The printed inscriptions identify the source as a painting by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, called Guercino, from the Royal Gallery of Dresden.
