About this work
An engraved frontispiece shows a bust portrait of a bearded man with a lace collar and sash, set within a heart-shaped frame held by two draped allegorical figures. A seated dog lies before an urn with garlands, and a garden terrace is visible through an arch, with a coat of arms held aloft by cherubs above. The engraved Latin inscription names Claude Bouthillier, and the print is attributed to Grégoire Huret.
