About this work

A loosely drawn etching shows a reclining woman with her legs bent and her head tilted back, as if asleep, in front of a darkened, dreamy background. The figure is rendered in fine, quick lines with soft tonal shading, and a second, fainter figure appears at the right. The print is titled Somnolence, is attributed to Jules Pascin, and is dated 1928 in the handwritten note on the sheet.
