About this work

A watercolor and pen drawing shows a narrow street in Auteuil with a tall tree beside a stone wall, a small building bearing a locksmith sign, and a street lamp on a bracket. Two adult men and a child stand on the roadway, and an inscription in the lower left reads that this is the last section of the rue des Perchamps to be demolished for the clearing of the École Say, dated 1887. The work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
