A pencil drawing shows a multi-storey building with chimneys, dormer windows, an arched doorway and a wooden fence in the foreground, with a sign reading CHARBONS on the right. Handwritten inscription below identifies the subject as the former convent and church of the Merci on rue des Archives at the corner of rue de Braque, demolished in August 1879. The work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet and dated 1879.
