About this work
An engraved print shows a haloed clergyman in long robes ascending a stone staircase with outstretched arms, while armed men with raised swords and a hat-wearing figure approach from behind. A classical colonnade and arched interior frame the scene, and the caption reads 'S. Thomas of Canterburie his life'. The work is attributed to Grégoire Huret.
