About this work
A pencil drawing shows a street corner with a tall tree in the foreground, a stone archway with a wooden door, and a row of buildings with dormer windows and shop signs. A handwritten caption in the lower right identifies the site as the so-called Porte Saint-Marcel at the corner of the Lebrun and des Cornes streets, and the work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
