About this work
This engraved title page for a thesis dedicated to Nicolas Faure de Berlise from 1670 shows an upper scene of a standing figure presented before a seated allegorical figure beneath a classical colonnade, with cherubs holding a shield above. The lower section contains a text panel titled Conclusiones Philosophicae framed by ornate oval vignettes depicting a carriage, a ship, a riding scene and a figure in a landscape. The print is attributed to Grégoire Huret.
