About this work
A pencil drawing on tan paper shows a shopfront entrance with an ornate carved cartouche above, a wrought iron railing, and a staircase leading into the doorway. Handwritten inscriptions on the sheet read 'Bureau de Patisserie' and 'Mon Duchesne', with a note dated May 1884 identifying the location as rue des Prouvaires, corner of rue St Honoré. The sheet is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
