About this work
A pencil drawing shows the entrance of a building with a carved pediment, a round medallion above the door, and a flagpole rising from the roof. Two standing figures stand in the doorway beside piles of wooden debris, suggesting demolition. The inscription in the lower right reads that the building was demolished in November 1880, and the work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet, dated 1880.
