About this work
A watercolor and pencil drawing shows a Paris street with a long wall bearing the painted advertisement for Ollivier Louvet, and several multi-storey buildings behind it. Two men and two women in period dress stand at the street corner, and a handwritten caption notes the demolition of the rue du Vieux Colombier for the completion of the rue de Rennes. The work is by Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
