About this work
A pencil sketch on tan paper shows a rounded corner building at a Paris street intersection, with signage for a pharmacy, a wine and liqueur shop, and a doorway where a woman stands beside stacked baskets. Handwritten French notes beneath describe the rotunda terminating the rue Saint-Denis passage at the former charnier site. The drawing is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet and dated 1878.
