About this work
A lithograph titled La censure by Jean Veber shows a donkey surrounded by men who are handling and stacking printed sheets and newspapers on the ground. Several figures, some with bowed heads, appear to be examining or stamping the paper, while one man reaches out to the donkey's head. The work is dated 1913 in the artist's handwriting.
