About this work

This painted landscape shows a deep glacial valley lined with sheer granite walls, with the rounded dome of Half Dome rising in the distance beyond snow-dusted peaks. A cascading waterfall falls down a rock face on the right, while evergreen trees and small figures on a grassy ledge in the foreground suggest the scale of the scene.
