A lithograph shows a crowd of young chicks spilling out of and around a wicker-trimmed wooden crate on a straw-covered ground. The chicks vary in down color, from pale yellow to dark brown and black, and several are pecking or peering over the edge of the box. The work is attributed to Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait and dated 1889.
