About this work

The painting shows a cluster of houses and church towers with red roofs nestled on a wooded slope below a rugged, partly snow-dusted mountain peak lit with pink tones. Rustic wooden sheds and dense green shrubs fill the foreground, and a path winds through the hillside. The work is credited to Otto Ludwig Schneider and carries the title Berchtesgaden.
