About this work
A pale watercolor and ink drawing shows an arched stone gateway with wooden doors set into a low wall, flanked by leafy street trees and a cobbled roadway. Buildings with dormer windows and a tall chimney line the street beyond, and a handwritten caption in the lower right reads 1878. The work is credited to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet and is catalogued as a print in Wikimedia Commons.
