About this work
This engraved title page for the thirteenth year of the reign of Louis XV, dated 1727 in red lettering, is framed by two bearded male figures serving as supports, labelled Archimedes and Hippocrates. Small oval medallions in the corners and at top and bottom show classical scenes and a landscape with a city, all within dense etched ornament. The print is attributed to Grégoire Huret on the lower left.
