About this work
A pencil drawing on pale blue-green paper shows a small, decommissioned cemetery chapel with a cross on its roof, framed by tall trees and a dirt track in the Bois de Boulogne. The handwritten French inscription beneath the scene notes the site was disused from 1852 opposite the Longchamp racecourse stands. The work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet and dated 1852.
