About this work
A watercolor and pencil sketch shows a road with high stone retaining walls on both sides, with a church with twin towers rising in the distance. A handwritten inscription beneath the image identifies the view as a section of the avenue d'Eylau from the Longchamp roundabout to the Trocadéro, dated July 1888. The work is attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
