A watercolor and pen drawing shows a narrow Paris street with tall stone buildings, a wine shop marked "VINS" with an arched doorway, and figures in period dress and workers' clothing on the cobblestones. The handwritten inscription beneath names the 1st arrondissement, rue Jean Lantier and Sainte-Opportune, and the Louvre and Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois area, and the work is credited to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
