About this work
A pencil drawing shows a corner of a dense urban street with tall irregular rooftops, chimneys, and dormer windows rising above shopfronts, including signs reading "Teinture" and "Ravaut". The sketch is dated 8 December 1879 and attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet, with a handwritten note identifying the location as the Rue Saint-Roch near the Rue d'Argenteuil.
