About this work

A lithograph in soft brown and red tones shows three stout, caricatured men striding together along a dusty road, mouths open as if singing, one holding a cane and a bundle of sticks. A small pencil sketch in the lower right repeats the trio seated beneath a bare branch, and a milestone marked PARIS 24 stands by the roadside. The work is credited to Jean Veber and titled Les 3 bons amis, with a Bibliothèque nationale proof notation and a 1904 legal deposit stamp.
