About this work

An oil study on board showing a group of figures gathering in a dense pine forest, with tall slender trunks rising toward a pale sky. A figure in a red jacket stands at right while others bend low over the forest floor near the lower left. The loose, textured brushwork and muted earth tones give the scene a sketch-like immediacy.
