About this work

A figure in a pink dress lies on a grassy slope beneath a leaning tree, with a dense thicket and a red-roofed building at the left edge. The loose, dabbed brushwork renders the foliage and sky in soft greens, pinks and blues. This is Paul Gauguin's Young Woman Lying in the Grass.
