About this work
An engraved town view shows a riverside settlement with tall church spires, rows of rooftops, and a stone arched bridge in the foreground. A horse-drawn covered wagon crosses the bridge while a small boat floats on the water, and ruined castles crown the surrounding hills under a dramatic cloudy sky. The print is attributed to Clarkson Frederick Stanfield and dated 1835.
