About this work
This etching plate shows a canal scene with an arched bridge spanning the water, with a horse and cart crossing below beside a paddle wheel. Several workers stand on a staircase and along the bridge, and a row of brick houses and chimneys rises behind them. The work is by Jean Brusselmans, undated, and is held in the Chalcography Department of the Royal Library of Belgium.
