About this work
A graphite drawing on tracing paper shows a robed female figure holding a torch above a kneeling, nude male figure who clings to a seated, hooded man. A squared grid overlays the sheet, indicating a preparatory study. Jean Delville made this drawing in 1911, and it is held in the Prints Department of the Royal Library of Belgium.
