About this work
A charcoal and white chalk drawing on a terracotta-red paper shows a large tree with thick, curving trunks and branches spreading across the composition. Loose foliage is rendered in dark smudged tones, and faint architectural outlines appear at the lower left and right. The drawing is dated 1930 and attributed to Jean Brusselmans, held in the Prints Department of the Royal Library of Belgium.
