About this work

A pointillist-style painting of a riverside scene in which a lone fisherman in a dark coat and hat stands on a sandy path, holding a rod over the water. Tall trees with yellow, orange and violet foliage line the opposite bank, and their colours are echoed in the shimmering reflections on the Loing river. The work is titled Pêcheur à la ligne, Moret, bord du Loing and is attributed to Francis Picabia, dated in the lower right corner.
