About this work
Loggers at a Mountain Torrent, a work by Franz Scheyerer dated 1837, shows a rushing, foaming stream carrying floating timber through a rocky, forested valley. Dark conifers rise along the banks while small figures of workers stand near large boulders at the lower right, handling the logs. The composition contrasts the churning white water and reddish-brown wood with the deep greens of the forest and distant hills.
