About this work

A red and black chalk drawing shows a row of old Parisian buildings with steep roofs, dormer windows, and tall chimneys along a street. Wooden scaffolding and a timber structure stand beside a leaning building, and a shop sign reading Fourcard Hôtel Meublé is visible. The inscription in the lower right identifies the street as Rue du Cimetière Saint-Benoît, dated April 1915, and signed by the artist Charles Jouas.
