A colored pencil and chalk drawing by Charles Jouas, dated 1906, shows a steep wooden staircase and scaffolding rising diagonally across the composition. Faint stone arches and a riverside structure appear in the background, with red and brown tones highlighting the timber. The inscription records metro works between the Pont au Change and the Pont Notre-Dame in November 1906.
