About this work
A sketch in red chalk and graphite shows steel scaffolding and a partly built structure in the foreground, with a small figure of a worker standing near the water's edge below. Tall buildings rise faintly in the background, and an inscription in French notes the metro works between the Pont Saint Michel and the Petit Pont in November 1906. The work is attributed to Charles Jouas and dated 1906.
