About this work
A pastel and chalk drawing shows the Samaritaine bathhouses on the Seine, with a stone bridge arching across the water and a moored barge at right. Parisian apartment blocks and rooftops rise behind the riverside structures under a hazy sky. The work is signed by Charles Jouas, dated 1919, and inscribed with the title and the date of January 29, 1910.
