About this work
An etched architectural view shows a multi-storey stone building with arched ground-floor windows, a steep slate roof with dormers, and several chimneys, one emitting smoke. A climbing tree or shrub rises beside the facade, and a heap of debris lies in the foreground near a small figure standing in a doorway. The print is inscribed "L'Abbaye aux Bois, Août 1906" and was made by Charles Jouas in 1906.
