About this work

This loosely painted interior shows several women in dark and light dresses working around a wooden table, one seated figure stitching over a bolt of pale blue fabric. Other figures in wide-brimmed hats and a standing woman at the right edge suggest a busy dressmaking room. The work is titled Nähatelier Paquin 1904-06 and is attributed to Isaac Israëls, dated 1904.
