A wood engraving shows a large crowd gathered in the Place de la Concorde during the August 15 festivities, with figures in period dress strolling, riding horses, and sheltering under parasols. Decorative pavilions, a tall pagoda-style tower, flags, and an obelisk fill the square, with a fountain at the center. The print is credited to Edmond Morin and dated 1858.
