About this work
A wood engraving of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, filled with crowds in period dress, mounted riders, and fountains. Ornate temporary pavilions, a tall pagoda-style tower, and flags decorate the square, with an obelisk and classical buildings visible in the distance. The print is dated 1858 and was made by Edmond Morin, depicting the decorations for the 15 August festivities.
