About this work
A pale blue-toned drawing shows a Paris street corner with shopfronts advertising absinthe, vermouth, wine, liqueurs, butter, eggs and cheese. Several figures, including women in bonnets and a child, gather near the grocer's doorway on cobbled paving. The work is dated 1884 and attributed to Jules-Adolphe Chauvet.
