About this work
A small oil study shows a family group resting on the grass beside a large tree in a wooded clearing. A seated man in a dark coat observes the scene while a woman in a white dress sews and another woman in an orange-brown skirt holds a young child. The loose, sketch-like brushwork and muted green and brown palette give the scene an informal, outdoor character.
